By accessing and using ekumal.com (the “Website”) or making a reservation with Ekumal, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use, Reservation Policies, and Stay Rules (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Website and do not proceed with any reservation. Ekumal reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We kindly ask all guests to read carefully and respect these guidelines to ensure a safe and harmonious experience for everyone.
Website Use & Eligibility
Access to the Website does not require registration. However, reservations, purchases, or program participation may require submission of personal information. User accounts (if applicable) are personal and non-transferable. Ekumal reserves the right to deny or cancel registrations or reservations that do not meet eligibility requirements. All personal data is processed in accordance with our Cookies & Privacy Policy
By booking accommodations or services, you confirm that:

All information provided is truthful, accurate, and complete.

You agree to comply with all booking processes and property rules.
Intellectual Property: All content on the Website — including text, design, images, logos, and trademarks — is the property of Ekumal or its licensors. No reproduction, distribution, modification, or commercial use is permitted without prior written consent. Access to the Website grants personal, non-commercial use only.
Users and guests agree not to:

Use the Website or property for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.

Damage, impair, or interfere with Website functionality.

Engage in disruptive or harmful conduct on the property.

Suspected fraud or misconduct may result in cancellation, removal, and/or legal action.
Limitation of Rights: Ekumal reserves the right to:

Restrict or terminate Website access.

Cancel reservations that violate these Terms.

Refuse service to protect the safety, well-being, and integrity of the property and its guests.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts and tribunals of Mexico.
Reservations & Payment Terms

Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Reservations are confirmed only after:

Written email confirmation from Ekumal, and

Successful payment processing.

Group Retreats & Full Venue Rentals

30% deposit required to secure dates.
-
Dates are confirmed only once the deposit has cleared.
-
Remaining balance due no later than 7 days before the event.
-
Special rates apply for 20–50 participants.
-
Exclusive venue rentals require a 30% non-refundable deposit.
Rate Policies

Prices are subject to change.

Quoted rates are guaranteed for 5 days from initial request.

If no deposit is received within 5 days, dates may be released.

Bank and transaction fees are non-refundable.
-
Website payments include a 9% surcharge for transaction fees.

International payments should be made via Wise.
Billing Errors: If billing information contains errors, corrections must be completed on-site with any required payment adjustments.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Reservations may be rescheduled once at no additional charge.

If a rescheduled reservation is later canceled, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
Refund Schedule

More than 90 days before event: 50% refund.

30–90 days before event: One-time date change only (no cancellation refund).

30 days or less before event: No refund.

No-show: No refund.

Deposits are non-refundable unless explicitly stated otherwise above.
General Stay Policies for The Sanctuary
Rates Include: Nightly rate includes two meals and non-alcoholic beverages.

Early check-in or late check-out (including a meal) is available for an additional fee.
Property Rules

No smoking indoors. Violation fee: $500 USD/$10,000 mxn.

Quiet hours after 10:00 PM.

Only registered guests with confirmed reservations are permitted on the property.

$250 MXN or $500 MXN (includes one meal)
Pet Policy

We are pet-friendly. Guests bringing pets do so at their own responsibility.

Pets must be well-behaved.

Owners must clean up after their pets.

There are always two dogs and one can be territorial. It's best that you contact us to discuss compatibility.

No pets in the pool.

Ekumal assumes no liability for pet-related incidents.
Pool Rules

No lifeguard on duty. Swim at your own risk.

Pool hours: 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM
-
Maximum depth: 4.6 ft
-
No diving.
-
No smoking, eating, or drinking in the pool.
-
No glass near the pool.
-
Children under 10 must be supervised at all times.
-
No running.
-
Do not place furniture in the pool.
-
Failure to comply may result in removal from the pool area or property.
Ekumal reserves the right to refuse reservations or remove guests who violate these Terms without refund.
Participation in Experiences & Wellness Activities
Lumina offers optional wellness experiences and activities, which may include but are not limited to temazcal ceremonies, ice baths, breathwork sessions, water cleanses, jungle walks, movement practices, and other physical, emotional, or spiritually oriented activities (collectively, “Experiences”).
Voluntary Participation: Participation in all Experiences is entirely voluntary. By choosing to participate, guests acknowledge and agree that:

Certain Experiences involve physical exertion, heat exposure, cold exposure, uneven terrain, water immersion, or emotional release.

Participation carries inherent risks, including but not limited to dehydration, dizziness, fainting, burns, slips, falls, allergic reactions, emotional discomfort, or other unforeseen physical or psychological responses.

Individual results and reactions vary.
Health & Fitness Responsibility: Participants confirm that:

They are in adequate physical and mental condition to participate.
-
They have consulted a licensed medical professional if they have any health concerns regarding participation.
-
They will disclose any relevant medical conditions, injuries, pregnancy, cardiovascular issues, respiratory conditions, neurological conditions, recent surgeries, or other limitations before participation.
Lumina does not provide medical supervision during Experiences unless explicitly stated. Guests are solely responsible for determining whether participation is appropriate for them. Lumina reserves the right to refuse participation if participation is deemed unsafe.

Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability
By participating in any Experience, guests:

Release and hold harmless Lumina, its owners, staff, facilitators, contractors, and affiliates from liability to the fullest extent permitted under applicable law.

Participants agree to follow all instructions provided by facilitators and staff. Failure to comply may result in removal from the Experience without refund.
